Funny Sunny Weekend

SPICE C Philly

It’s been all rain and no shine in the City of Brotherly love the past few months but this past weekend I got the chance to have my very own Funny… Sunny… Weekend. A good friend of mine hung out with me and we decided to hit up China Town  to grab a quick bite from a sports bar Bar-Ly. before we headed over to the Trocadero to see stand up comedian Ron Funches  . He was in town on his “Funch-a-Mania” tour making the crowd laugh (and my cheeks hurt) as he shared his love for Dwayne “The Roc” Johnson and cracked small jokes about his current weight lose. You can find Ron on NBC’s Powerless TV series as himself or catch him on tour in your City.

After all that laughter I was dreadfully hungry so we decided to stay in the area and grab dinner at SPICE C Chinese restaurant and order the Hot Pot spicy seafood bowl, Szechuan chicken and crab Rangoon and literally pigged out. We got there close to closing time so we ordered, gobbled as much as we could and headed over to Milk Boy to sip some cocktails and watch the NBA finals Cavaliers (137) vs Warriors (116) game. Soon after the game we ordered another round then called it a night. I don’t get a chance to get out much due to my busy schedule so when I do I take advantage of the full day given and have myself a Funny… Sunny… Weekend!.

Man of the House Concerts & Mikey G Presents ‘Yufi Zewdu’

Man of the House Concerts & Mikey G Presents Yufi Zewdu with the headlining artist being Hugo Tae along with opening acts James Allen and the Hazie Blu Crew Live at the Trocadero Theater  (Balcony Stage) in Philly Wednesday June 12, 2013.  Your’s truly Miss, LIV had the opportunity to sing background vocals along with Yufi and the crew for the first time. It’s been a good while that your girl has had the opportunity to sing on stage.  After sound check the crew and I gathered at a round table and waited patiently for the guests and the other performers to arrive.

James Allen  (@jamesallenraps & @Iamjchrome) was the first act to hit the stage and get the eager crowd warmed up for Wednesday nights event. In my opinion James Allen was a “Superb MC” I loved his flow, he was rocking the heck out of that mic and the crowd loved his energy. DJ AMH (@DJ_AMH) was killing it on the 1’s and 2’s rocking the crowd with the 90’s flow. Some of the crowd was showing off their old-school dance moves being silly and having a fun time.  It was cool vibes, drinks were flowing, and camera’s where flashing. Speaking of cameras Darren Burton (@Creativi_D) photographer for HipHopSince1987 was in the building, ” I can’t wait to see those photos”,  He does a great job and I like the way he sees his art visually.

“Man of the House” HUGO TAE

The headliner  Hugo Tae (@Hugotae) “Man of the House” hit the stage while his friends and family cheered him on in the crowd. Everyone had their camera phone’s out trying to snap a picture and video of the MC. It felt like an old-school hip-hop show that evening. Good show! it was well worth the sweat and humidity I had to endure. I thank Yufi Zewdu  (@YufiZewdu) for asking me to back him up on the vocals and of course it’s always a pleasure to see my favorite band Hazie Blu do their thing on stage. I look forward to events where I get to experience real artists. Artist who put in 100 % in all that they do, deserves support not only from friends and family, but from those who know the grind and how much energy it takes to create one’s own brand.

Each artist craft is not given by man but a blessing given at birth.

Soul Stage

Man of The House Concerts & Mikey G Presents…

“SOUL STAGE”

LIVE! at The Trocadero Thursday August 1, 2013 Man of The House Concerts & Mikey G gathered some of the hottest talent on the rise in Philly. Hosted by Hugotae and DJ AMH your girl Miss, LIV had the honor of witnessing talent in many forms once again that evening. If you weren’t there you missed Kayla Enfiniti who reminded me of the late great “Aaliyah”  with her Tom Girl steelo, Vanessa IngrahmJames AllenDave WatsonHazie Blu and many more….

It was a doosey getting into the “Troc” not only did the guests have a time getting in but the performers as well. Standing outside for almost 2 hours was not a good look for the venue, I guess they were being “Sticklers” in giving us a hard time getting in but patience is key and I finally got through the doors. I didn’t get a chance to see all who performed (Bummer) due to me having to work in the A.M. but I stayed most of the evening to see some of the performers get their shine on.

Leon Tomas “Mr. Show Stopper” I call him. I ‘ve been noticing at each event I attend were Hazie Blu performs Leon seems to transform when he’s on stage. He stops tickling the keys, grabs the mic and the transformation begins.

I also notice the bond that CodeNine has with his guitar as I watched him play. He tips his cap low and he’s ready to play. He holds her and caresses her as if he’s making love “I love the way he plays”Wil Bond was FunkiN the heck out of his BASS and Tony (Couldn’t get a good pic due to the darkness) in the background setting the tempo on the drums. What can I say, I fell in love with these guys ever since the first time I heard them play. I’m in love with the Blu……

Kayla Enfiniti looked as if she was enjoying her first time on stage performing her single “On My Mind” feat…. McVeigh. I Loved her sexy “Tom Girl” persona it worked baby girl. Big thank you to Producer “Ferno” for letting me sit it and get an exclusive listen while I waited in the studio for my peoples to show up that evening. As soon as they pressed play I was sold. Trust and believe when I don’t like something I don’t like it but when I do “I Love It”

Vanessa Ingrahm has a beautiful voice, she and her background singers covered Beyonce’s “We Like To Party” Parteyyy, eyyy, eyyy… and sung a few originals of her own and some poetry sounding a bit like Lauren Hill. This was my second time getting a chance to see James Allen who always seems to get the crowd to participate with his fun loving energy. I don’t know how he does it, but when you got “IT” you just got “IT’.
