The Artist & Humanitarian

Su Picasso is not only a music artist he is also a humanitarian and a positive role model for the youth today. Over the past 3 years Su Picasso’s has been making his mark and his fan base grew from Philadelphia, to gaining international notoriety from Germany and Tokyo. Su Picasso! The artist whose songs share a message and a humanitarian for advocating and promoting human welfare in his home land of ‘Kinshasa’ the capital and largest city of the ‘Congo’ in Central Africa.

Many music lovers only know one side of the artist of their liking and that side only being the music and not what actually inspires the music they listen to. There are a lot of musicians who fail to be recognized for their craft because they don’t fit the so-called norm of the new millennial rapper. What I mean by ‘New Millennial Rapper’ is the ‘Noise’ we hear on our radios and the videos we see on TV that promotes heavy sexual encounters, drugs, alcohol and violence within the urban communities. Su Picasso is not your average music artist who just wants to perform for the perks, glam or popularity he’s an artist for the people. Earlier this year Su Picasso came into contact with a fan of his, who reached out to him via internet and asked if he would tell her story through his music. Catherine Jane a victim of sexual abuse who has been fighting for justice for the last 10 years and settled for $1.00 (No Typo $1.00 exactly) when she won the case a few months ago to prove that it wasn’t about the money but the fight against all rape victims. So, without hesitation he agreed to do so.

As I conducted more research I also found that Su Picasso reached out to the Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI) a U.S. based advocacy and grant-making initiative wholly focused on working with the people of eastern Congo www.easterncongo.org to help bring awareness to the sexual abuse, poverty and the children who are being groomed to become a part of violent army’s.

‘”At the end of the day, you haven’t lived, until you’ve done something for somebody and they can never repay you” – Su Picasso

Su Picasso has toured from the U. S. to overseas gaining fans from Germany, Tokyo and more… He’s given some of his local talented friends a platform to showcase their skills by throwing Live ‘Rock Out’ concerts like Love & Music, Dreams & Guitars and Bands & Roses at the legendary Sigma Sound. Su Picasso is an artist for the people and a role model and in his own unique way his music brings hope and healing for those who listen to his music.

“The best way to share a message can be through music” – Su Picasso
